Selian Repair Fund 2016

The Denver Hospice and Selian Lutheran Hospice in Tanzania have been partners for 15 years.  Over that time, a "side project" has developed involving volunteers who raise money and carry out needed repairs at Selian Lutheran Hospital and Arusha Lutheran Medical Center.   We call these volunteers the "Fundis"  (Swahili for "repair people").  In February of 2016 in conjunction with The Denver Hospice exchange trip to Selian, four Fundis will be doing repairs at Arusha Lutheran Medical Center, including a new project of building benches for sick patients and family members to sit on while waiting for care.  Our goal is to raise $4,000 for materials.

Please see our video of the 2010 Fundi Project to see what we've accomplished in the past!  Paul Motz-Storey leads these groups.  He has nearly 20 years experience volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and is a builder himself, so he knows how to organize a group of volunteers to get things done.

We are most grateful for any support you can provide.
