Rudy and Yvette Carrillo, were expecting to spend Easter weekend in Arizona with their daughter Linda Carrillo and two grandkids. They were excited to spend some time with an uncle who came from out of state to for the holidays.

On Saturday, April 04th, 2015 at 4:50 pm, the Carrillo family were traveling through Yucca Valley on Old Woman Springs Road when the rear tire of their Ford Expedition blewout and caused the vehichle to fish tail. Rudy Carrillo attempted to gain control of the SUV as it veered off to the right shoulder and rolled over three times before coming to a complete stop. Rudy and Yvette had lots of cuts and bruises to the on the face, arms, and legs. The two younger children , 6 and 3 years old, were safely buckled in their car seats and had minor scratches. They were all taken to local hospitals and discharged the same evening. Linda Carrillo, who was sitting behind the driver seat, was ejected from the vehicle and sustained multiple injuries. She fractured her ribs and right shoulder blade. She also had three broken disc in her back, two were pinching a nerve in her spine, and lots of tissue damage. Linda was transported by heicopter to the Trauma Center in Palm Springs.

On Easter Sunday, Linda underwent a 12 hour surgery. She recived a few tissue graphs and had to get a rod and screws placed in her back. A team of about 20 people worked extensively to repair the damage to her spine. The doctors have explained that it will be a long recovery. Linda is going to undergo lots of physical and psychological therapy, but it is still unknown if she will ever be able to walk again. As of right now Linda has little to no sensation in her legs. She can sense when were touching her but only feels tingling.

Yvette and Rudy currently live in Phelan so they are making arrangements to be in Palm Springs for the next few weeks until Linda is able to be transferred some where closer to home. Fortunately  the hospital had a housing program for families of trauma surgery patients. They offer rooms at a low cost on a day to day basis. Yvette and Rudy are also left with the worries of havg no transportation since the accident has left the family with no vehicle. They will now have to invest in a wheelchair accesible vehichle.

Linda is 18 years old and the youngest of four children. Recently graduated from Apple Valley High School and currenty attending Barstow Community College with her mom Yvette. She is a beautiful young lady who was coming out of her shell and finding herself. She enjoyes making pastries and deserts. Linda plans to continue baking and hopes to open a bakery one day. She is strong and courages. Although Linda is scared she says she will do whatever it takes to walk again.

We ask that you keep Linda and the family in your prayers. We have faith that Linda will overcome this. Thank you in advnce for your help. Please share this with family and friends. Donations in any amount are greatly appreciated.
