Raziel’s Road to Recovery
On April 7th 2021 Raziel Palmer, who was a few days shy of 10 months old, suffered a sudden cardiac arrest (cause still unknown). Because he stopped breathing and his heart was not breathing he suffered an anoxic injury to his brain. It is a very severe injury affecting a large portion of his brain. Raziel just celebrated his first birthday and he did so still inpatient in the children’s hospital. In a few days he will be discharged home to the care of his family. The care he needs is extensive and round the clock and it will be this way for the foreseeable future. There are many therapies/treatments which family’s of other children who have suffered similar injuries have said could be helpful to Raziel on his road to recovery. Unfortunately none of these therapies are covered by Medicaid or private insurance; and most of them are very expensive. The goal of this fundraiser is to offset some of the out of pocket expenses for these helpful therapies so that Raziel will be able to receive them and be on a path towards his best outcome. Thank you for your time and please share this.
