In March 2022, Julie & Dwayne Forbes got the devastating phone call that no parent ever should receive. Their beautiful, smart, kind-hearted 14 year old daughter Rayven has cancer. She had a biopsy of a skin lesion done by a local dermatologist and the lab results had come back positive for Lymphoma. It wasn't until their first appointment with an oncologist that they found out what type of Lymphoma it actually was. Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (ALCL). ACL is a rare type of cancer to begin with and even more rare in children.

Rayven is a young lady of faith, full of joy and life! Her positivity and kindness radiates in everything she does and through everyone she encounters. She cherishes her family and friends! She loves Softball and her teammates love her! Go Forest City Toxic Fastpitch! She plays the flute and loves animals, especially her pets. She's also quite talented at singing.

Rayven is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments at Loyola Medical Center in Chicago. Her prognosis looks very good and she has been handling everything very well. Rayven and her family are all doing the best they can considering the obstacles they have been faced with.
