Hi! My cousin’s name is Rayshaun Wheaton. He has had a lot of people tell him that they did not expect for him to go to college, including teachers. I am happy to say he just completed his first year of the Aggie ACHIEVE program at Texas A&M University. Aggie ACHIEVE is the state of Texas’ first inclusive, four-year postsecondary education program for students with disabilities. Rayshaun has so far beaten the odds and fulfilled his late mother’s dream for him to go off to school. He was able to enroll the second year the program opened.
Right now, he is working hard to put money away to pay for his second year, but it’s pretty tough. His tuition, fees, housing, and meal plan costs approximately $20,000 per year. This does not include extra therapy/tutoring services he pays for out-of-pocket. Since he lost his mom in 2018, his father has been only able to focus the majority of his finances on completing repairs to their home that was damaged by Hurricane Harvey. So far Rayshaun has received $4,000 in scholarships for the upcoming school year. While he is saving money from his summer job, he has a long way to go and could really use your help.
He would really appreciate your help with reaching his goal of $16,000 to support the 2021−2022 school year. If there is anything extra, it will go towards the following two school years. I would like to express my gratitude in advance for your generous contributions, and I thank you for helping Rayshaun reach his dream of completing the Aggie ACHIEVE program.
