Ray's Road to Recovery

This campaign was created to help Ray and his wife Michelle to fund their 6 week post op stay in Cleveland, their return visits for the next year, and any extraordinary medical costs that may arise. He had surgery early this morning,May 5th, 2017 at the Cleveland Clinic and is resting peacefully now, but not yet alert.
Ray is a husband,father,grandfather,brother, uncle and a faithful friend to all who have the honor of knowing him including his spoiled dogs. He is a long time Harley Davidson enthusiast and honorary HOG member; he enjoys riding his bike along the shoreline to Port Huron for fish fry's and ice cream. We are trusting his health will be restored and he will get to do just that this summer.
Ray fell ill 9 years ago with Cirrhosis of the Liver and was given one year to live. After 5 years of treatment he was then healthy enough to be placed on the donor list for a new liver. Trips to Cleveland became a regular occurrence and have been costly.
Finally and thankfully, Tuesday he got the call that a liver was available and to get to the hospital ASAP. Sadly, he wasn't the first in line and was sent home without a new liver. Mentally, physically, and emotionally drained they drove 175 miles back to Detroit.
Home for only 9 hours, the phone rang again and they found themselves back in the car driving south for another chance. 72 sleepless hours after the first call Ray had his surgery and it went very well. Victory!
Michelle is staying at the hotel attached to the hospital until Ray is released; if all goes well that will be in about 10 days. The will stay at another hotel for the next 5 weeks while he receives post op care.
They have never asked anyone for help through this hardship and are super independent(somewhat stubborn) people. They have both worked their whole lives and it truly is heartbreaking to see them struggle. Ray holds a very special place in our hearts and we want to create an environment in which he can heal without worry of this burden.
God is still in the miracle business and we are trusting in Him for Ray's full recovery and provision.
