This is my granddaughter, Raynah, who is 11 years old.
Raynah was life-flighted to Rainbow's Children's Hospital with dysrhythmia, her heart was not functioning well at all. After several tests, it was determined that her mitral valve was working backward (leaking). They've been working to get that under control but last night around 9-10pm her heart was acting more irritable and there was a more abnormal electrical connection. The cardiac team came in and did another electrocardiogram (ultrasound), the mitral valve is still leaking but they also were not able to see the coronary artery so they decided they need a better view of everything. Tomorrow she will be given isotopes for a special CT scan that focuses on the heart and how it's functioning. They'll know more once they get those results. There are 3 options on the table right now
1) they're able to get her heart to rest enough that the valve will "correct" itself
2) they go in and do like a roto-rooter procedure to clear the valve or
3) they replace the valve completely through surgery
Obviously they want to do the least invasive procedure but need test results to move forward.
Raynah is looking at a very lengthy hospital stay (several weeks). Immediate family is helping as much as possible with upcoming bills and other costs (gas, parking passes, etc) but Mom needs to stay at the hospital and will be unable to work, so anything to help relieve the financial stress, so Raynah can be the main focus, would be greatly appreciated.
I will continue to update Raynah's journey on this page.
Thank you all for the prayers, love and wishes that have been sent.
