Raymond Morton Wicker, 58, of Mebane, NC, passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2020 from esophageal cancer.
Raymond was born in Chapel Hill, NC on September 24, 1961, the son of the late Raymond Blackwell Wicker Jr. and Joann Ruth Morton. He was a business analyst at XPO Logistics prior to his illness. Much of his earlier life included his passions of playing the piano and flying radio-controlled airplanes. He also had an avid interest in pedal car history.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Laura Beth Wicker Lee, and a niece, Heather Niven.
Surviving are his wife of 15 years, Rebecca Ann (Duckett) and daughter, Lauren, of the home; and from prior relationship, daughter Ashley Renee Pinyan and her husband Danny, grandchildren Kimberlyn, Kendall, and Kenzie Grace; sister, Kathi Wicker; and several uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by a chosen brother of many years, Jeff Tyson and his wife, Karen.
A celebration service and dispersal of Raymond's ashes will be held at a later time in Myrtle Beach, SC.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to help fund Lauren's future education.
