Raymond "Bubbah" Schmidt entered this world on December 20, 1949. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He was raised in Kansas and always referred to himself in that regard as a 'Wheathead". Bubbah graduated High School from De Soto High, Kansas. He graduated from high school and developed his career as a master builder. By master builder I mean that he could build and design anything. He mastered building to the point that he could build your house from the ground up, and then build a bridge to get there. He had mastered building residential homes, as well as commercial construction. If you drive through Colorado Springs downtown area, and happen to notice the United Bank Tower (now the Wells Fargo Tower) building downtown, you are observing Bubbah's handiwork, as he was the foreman for the core construction. As he aged. and no longer had the physical endurance for full time building, he became first a beloved Principal at Pentecostal Christian Academy, and then an iconic associate at Home Depot, Though Bubbah was highly talented with his hands, he is known by everyone mainly for his heart. Bubbah was a man of God. What made Bubbah so loved, was that his love of God was expressed by his love for people, all people. whether you agreed with him or not, there was no denying that his motivation was love. He expressed this through his sense of humor, and genuine care for those around him. It didn't matter who you were or what you believed, if you needed a word from God, or any godly wisdom, Bubbah was a constant source. He was a dedicated husband, who loved his wife dearly, and was a loving and dedicated father and grandpa. Bubbah passed peacefully on February, 27th at 6:52 pm, surrounded by those that loved him, and were touched by his life. We want to celebrate this man of God's life with his family and friends, and are now collecting funds in this endeavor.
