Ray was diagnosed with throat cancer in November 2018. After many months of treatments he finally had a clear pet scan and was very happy that his battle was victorious. Unfortunately, a new scan months later showed that he had a new cancer in his lungs which had spread to his spine and eventually his pancreas which was causing a lot of pain. He fought hard, following every treatment plan available to him. Unfortunately, in the end, he quietly passes away at home with his family by his side. Ray was such wonderful, friendly person. We all lost a beautiful light On Sunday May 24th 2020. Ray was a very simple, humble man. He didn’t need a giant house, fancy cars, clothes, or lavish vacations. He was very content with the beauty of the things that surrounded him. He loved feeding his birds and deer, fishing at the lake, swimming in his pool, playing with his pets, and he truly loved talking with his friends and being with his family. Ray was quick to offer his help to anyone who was in need. This family was a godsend when my husband Alin passed and ray helped my son by stepping up....taking him fishing and spending quality guy time with him and considered my children and myself as his family. As you know ray had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh that left you feeling like maybe things aren’t so bad after all.. humor can be found in any situation. I know this is a very difficult time for a lot of people so any amount you can spare would be greatly appreciated. They do have medical insurance but this also has a high deductible and a lot of copays and cost sharing. This family has been coping with these medical bills for many years on their own but the bills are becoming overwhelming. Time would also be appreciated. The years of sickness has resulted in a slow decline of the family home. Many repairs are needed. If you are handy and able and have some time to spare please reach out to Susan.
