Family and friends, we need your help!   My brother Raymond is 42 years old and has been confined to a wheelchair since he was a child due to Still’s disease – Rheumatoid Arthritis.  The disease has shaped his body in a way where he relies solely on a customized chair to live his daily life.   He’s had his electric wheelchair for the past 28 years and it has allowed him to grow into a very capable and independent person.  Unfortunately, about a month ago his chair was vandalized and is now broken.  The bare minimum replacement of what he needs will cost $26,000. Any amount contributed will be greatly appreciated! The sooner we can help him, the sooner he can get back to his daily routine.

 

Raymond is a very fun, caring person.  He lives alone and spends most of his time at home.  He enjoys spending time with family (especially entertaining our nieces and nephews!)  He also spends a lot of time at the park near his house.  His wheelchair has helped him become very independent; he uses ride services to take himself to his doctor appointments, and has never had any issue before.  About a month ago, he was waiting outside for his ride, and there were 4 teenagers who were bothering him.  They began throwing rocks at him and his wheelchair.  We are so thankful that he wasn’t hurt, and we are very upset that his way of life was taken from him.   We are very saddened that this happened due to bullying over being different.   It mostly breaks our hearts that he has been stuck at home, unable to leave his home by himself, even for just fresh air since the incident.
