On the morning of July 27, 2025, the Plainville community suffered an unimaginable loss. Firefighter Raymond "Ray" Moreau, a 35-year veteran of the Plainville Fire Department tragically lost his life in the line of duty while operating at a structure fire on Maria Road.
Ray dedicated over three decades of his life to protecting and serving others, always showing up with honor, selflessness, and professionalism. Beyond his service, Ray was a loving husband and a loyal friend. Ray also had a quirky personality and a lighthearted spirit that drew people to him. To his nieces and nephews he wasn't just "Uncle Ray"- he was affectionately known as "Funkle," the fun uncle. He was admired, adored, and loved deeply by them.
This fundraiser is being organized on behalf of Ray's wife Christine "Chris" Moreau, who now faces the heartbreaking task of navigating life without her beloved husband. All donations will go directly to her to help ease the burden of many unforeseen challenges that come with such a sudden and devastating loss.
Please join us in honoring Ray's memory by supporting the family he loved deeply. Whether through a donation, sharing this page, or lifting his family in your thoughts and prayers-every act of kindness means the world.
With gratitude,
