Hey friends, Ray Montana here.... ;-)
My story starts off in 1982 in a little music store in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. That was the day I bought a Fender Stratocaster guitar that would be cradled in my arms for 20 years throughout my duration of playing country music (and some blues & rock too'). Sometime in the 80's, while on the road, my beloved Strat was nicknamed "Jesus" (it's a long story but let's just say an inspiration from a soundman I had a lot of respect for)
In 2002, I left Calgary for Vancouver but had some debts I had to clear off and really, had run out of options to sell anything but my baby...my Strat. I sold it to a fellow from Saskatchewan AND, oddly enough, it ended up in the SAME store I had bought it from brand new in 1982. From there it went to a guitarist from Toronto who had been travelling through and bought it. It then went to someone in New York City and finally to a guitarist in Ohio... which is where she
is now. Somehow this Ohio-based guitarist had found out I was looking for "Jesus" and sent me a pic of her.. that was about a year ago. He didn't want to part with her (and I understood that) but said that if he ever did.. he'd contact me first. Well.. he contacted me this past Saturday and though I had given up hope of EVER holding that beautiful guitar in my arms again, I was SHOCKED to get the text from him !! I make a meager wage working with adults who have developmental disabilities and I don't gig that much anymore (you can partially thank my bad knees for THAT !!) BUT I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE MY BEAUTIFUL STRAT, "JESUS" BACK... PLEASE HELP !!!
