Help Support Raydon’s Fight Against Adrenoleukodystrophy

We wanted to give everyone an updated look at where things currently stand with Raydon and our family.

Right now, Raydon is in one of the hardest parts of the transplant process. He still has not reached engraftment yet, so his body is continuing to recover from the chemotherapy, immune suppression, and transplant itself. The doctors are working hard every day to manage medications, symptoms, pain, anxiety, and side effects as his body fights through this stage.

His vision has continued to decline significantly, and there are many moments where he is confused, anxious, or uncomfortable. Some days are better than others, but overall this has been an extremely difficult stretch for him physically and emotionally.

As parents, it has also been a very difficult season for our family. Between long hospital stays, being away from home, caring for our newborn, trying to support Emma through all of this, and preparing for the long recovery road ahead, life has changed completely for us over the last several months.

Even after engraftment happens, we will still be required to remain in the Salt Lake area for around 100 additional days for monitoring and follow-up care. We still do not know exactly what Raydon’s long-term challenges and needs will look like, especially regarding his vision and neurological condition.

We are incredibly grateful for every prayer, message, donation, and share. The support our family has received has helped more than we can properly express. Financially, emotionally, and practically, this journey is still ongoing and the needs continue to grow as we move forward.
