Rayauna Needs A Liver

Hi!  My name is Rayauna.  I am 18 years old and a recent grad of Corvallis High School, MT, formerly attended Legacy HS in Las Vegas.  At 17, I began having terrible pain in my stomach and went to the doctor.  They found I had kidney stones and, shockingly, cirrhosis of the liver, which has continued to worsen.  Since that time, I have had many trips to doctors, specialists hospitals. Two of those hospital trips were by Life Flight.  I have had many episodes with bleeding in my stomach, two of which I almost didn't recover from.  Last week I spent 3 days at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle for more testing and classes explaining what to expect as now it has been decided I will require a liver transplant.  My mom has been by my side during this entire ordeal and I probably wouldn't be here today without her care. Now, we have to do something we never thought we would have to do...ask for help with finances.  The bills are piling up.  My Mom can't work cuz she takes care of me.  I am not allowed to work and seems like so many things are falling in on us.  Every trip to the hospital is so costly, as are all the doctor's trips.  That is just the tip of the iceberg.  I have more trips for assessments, which requires trips from Montana to Washington AND when I do have the transplant, I will be required to live within 2 hours of the University of Washington Medical Center for 3 months after.  Needless to say, I will be on medications for the rest of my life.  It was a tough decision for us to even open this account, but we are out of options.  Please know that every penny contributed will not be spent recklessly.  If you have any questions, we will be glad to answer them.  We have set a goal of $40,000.00 and are hoping this will be enough.  Any donation you make, big or small, will be very much appreciated.  And, we hope you will include your prayers too.  My Mom, Barbara Melkonian, and I believe these are what have gotten us through so far.
