Rayah Phoenix is a beautiful, talented, kind 7-year-old girl who, just weeks after she celebrated her birthday, experienced 3 moderate strokes over the course of 36 hours.  Rayah loves writing, coloring, singing, and playing dolls with her friends and younger brother Levi, as well as running around outside like every little kid does.  The strokes have taken away her ability to do so many of those things easily.  The strokes affected the left side of her brain, leaving her right side weakened and made it difficult for her to find her words.



Rayah is currently in an intensive, in-patient rehabilitation facility at our local children's hospital.  Everyone that has met her is enthralled by her positivity and perseverance.  They have high hopes and expectations for this little girl, but it will be a long road for her.  

Rayah's parents are continually at her side.  Her father is a Chief in the US Navy, and her mother is a preschool teacher.  Their bosses have been amazing, going above and beyond to give them as much time as they need, but both need to go back to work. 



They have been driving back and forth from their home to the hospital several times a day.  Once Rayah is home, they will be adding outpatient therapy to their schedule at least several times a week.  She won't be able to go back to school for a bit.  Her mother will have to cut back her hours to help transport her to therapies.  Their home will need some accommodations to help Rayah transition home.  Rayah will need a new IPAD to help her communicate, do her homework while she is out of school, and do therapy.   They may need a bigger car. Although her father is active duty, there may be medical costs, tests, or equipment that Tricare doesn't cover.  This Go Fund Me will help them with any and hopefully all of these unexpected things that may come up over the next few months or years. 


This family is absolutely one of the most amazing group of people you will ever meet.  They are kind, giving, and loving.  This has been such a shock to them (no one imagines their 7-year-old will have a stroke), but they have held it all together with smiles, laughter, and strength that is to be admired!  Any help you can give will be appreciated, and if you are unable to donate, please keep this amazing little girl and her family in your prayers.
