Help Fix Grandma's Roof

Hello, my name is Katelyn and this fundraiser is for Elizabeth (Liz). She is a disabled woman whose only source of income is AISH. Liz is in need of a new roof on her trailer. The current roof leaks in the addition and renders that area of the house unliveable. Currently, the trailer houses Liz and one of her many grandchildren, Jess, whom she is raising for her late daughter, Tabatha. She tried to apply through AISH to get her roof fixed so that she and her grandson would have a house that is totally liveable. Unfortunately, AISH denied her application and refused to help her fix the roof. Having no other source of income, we decided to start a fundraiser for her.

Here is some background on Elizabeth:

Liz is a survivor of stage 4 anal canal cancer. She endured extreme chemotherapy and radiation which deteriorated her body severely, rendering her disabled. She is still continually suffering from the effects of radiation with severe chronic pain, limited mobility, and most recently the near failure of her kidneys due to her bladder no longer working. In her life, she has raised 4 of her own children, as well as 9 of her many grandchildren. One of her grandchildren is still in her custody to this day, despite having a fixed income.

Liz is always the first one to do what she can for her family and friends who are close to her. One of her grandchildren whom she raised, Seth, and I are starting this fundraiser to return the favour and help her home become liveable again. The lowest quote on a roof that she received is $6,400. So that is our starting goal. Any additional funds we receive will go to extra costs regarding the roof, and then to Elizabeth herself to help pay for whatever she may need.
