Help Arlene Maturino fight cervical cancer
Donation protected
Hello my name is Yvonne Herrera and this is written on behalf of Arlene Maturino.
**update as of 3/5/24
Our beloved Arlene is down but not out. She’s still fighting hard, but we don’t know how much time she has left with us. We are now trying to raise funds for funeral costs. Please keep Arlene and her family in your prayers.
“I was first diagnosed with Stage III cervical cancer April of 2022. I received a combination of chemotherapy and radiation. I went into remission in September, and was grateful and excited to return to my normal life with my family and friends.
In mid January, I began experiencing sever stomach pain, and eventually went into the ER. After some testing, I found out that the cancer had returned, this time spreading into my upper right quadrant part of the stomach. I have undergone 1/6 parts of chemo, and remain hopeful to beat cancer again. I am unable to leave the hospital because my oxygen levels are too low and I have a blockage in my stomach that doctors are trying to work on.
I have been a correctional officer with the California Department of Corrections since April 2020. Since my second cancer diagnosis, I have been out of work since February 2023. The hardest part of being in the hospital is not being able to see my two very young daughters. I am grateful for the support I’ve been receiving from my family and friends so far, it means the world to me.”
Elena Morris, Arlene’s mother wants to thank everyone on behalf of Arlene, her daughters and her family. She is forever grateful for all of the kind words and support from everyone.
We want nothing more than to see our beloved “Mattie” beat cancer again. On behalf of Arlene, her family, and her CDCR family, thank you so much for reading this and for donating. Every cent is truly appreciated. Please keep Arlene and her family in your prayers.
