“May you touch dragonflies and stars, dance with fairies, laugh with the angels, and talk to the moon.”
Words cannot express the sorrow and sadness we feel at the loss of our strong warrior Ray, and Olivia’s beloved Papa.
Ray passed away with Olivia and Julia by his side on 1st February at 6:05pm in Beverly Hills. We and all of his friends and family are beyond blessed to have so many special memories over the years, and hope that he is now pain free after many years of suffering from chronic back pain.
Ray touched the lives of so many, but above all was a great Dad. He was caring, giving, had a huge heart, was a leader, and loved to mentor and pass on his career knowledge to talented and motivated young adults in the Film, Commercial and Events industry.
Ray started his career in Hollywood in the 1970’s at The Dexters, a Commercial and Film Production House. At a very young age he learnt every aspect of the business and worked his way up to become a Producer / AD on high-end Film and Commercials over the years. He later went on to cofound ZED INK in 2002 bringing with him a unique perspective for event production.
He loved to care for so many and always believed in nurturing talent, ultimately to see them grow in the industry. He had a larger than life personality, was fearless and never followed the rules. He had the capability of problem solving way before the problem had even happened, and was always 10 steps ahead in his vision for what could be. It was a pleasure for so many to be mentored by him and in honor of Ray’s memory the family has chosen Street Light Productions, an organization who’s mission is to assist young adult minorities to achieve long term economic stability and career success in The Entertainment Industry.
ZED INK has been working with Street Light Productions since 2005. Some of our most trusted freelancers have advanced their careers starting as Production Assistants and Crew Members within a range of job categories – from Gaffers to Grips, from Production Assistants to Producers.
Ray, thank you for giving so many the opportunity to thrive in the business and to always be our parachute at ZED INK when things got tough, we are proud to continue your legacy.
We love and miss you very much
Julia, Olivia, Frank & Marie and everyone at ZED INK
