At 5:00 PM on Friday Andrea was sitting in bed next to Ray and he started breathing really weird and became unresponsive. She called 911. They checked him out and said he may be dehydrated and he needed to go to the ER for some fluids and more tests. They got to the er they did a chest Xray and it was clean and they did a head CT and there was a large mass so he was driven by ambulance to OU to meet a neurosurgeon. Today he declined tremendously to the point where he has become unresponsive to conversation and it takes a lot to wake him up. Around 10PM he stopped breathing. They did CPR and shocked him. Then they intubated him and he is breathing with that. They just inserted a drain into his brain because the tumor is blocking his spinal fluid from draining. During this process they noticed a blown pupil and are doing more scans to potentially do emergency surgery to relieve some pressure on his brain. They are also inserting central line into his carotid. The kids don’t know anything but their dad had a seizure and the doctors are running tests so please don’t tell them. Keep us in your thoughts, prayers, or whatever you believe in PLEASE. It has been a quick few days of her perfectly healthy husband becoming blue in front of us. It has been a scary few days. We will know more in a couple of days as far as prognosis and future plans. But, right now we know that we are having missed income and it is unknown what travel/expenses/food costs they will have. Please help if you can.
