Ray Ray has been through a life-changing battle these past few months. He spent over three months in the hospital after developing sepsis, which began with the amputation of his big toe that became severely infected. At just 53 years old, Ray Ray has been fighting harder than ever for his life—and we are so thankful he’s still here with us today.
Ray Ray is a type 2 diabetic and this health crisis has left him unable to walk, struggling with blood pressure issues, and now dealing with a severe bedsore from being bedridden. Just this week, after returning home from the doctor, his bedsore was pulled open and the tip of his spine is now exposed. The wound is massive, measuring 11 ½ by 9 inches, and requires extensive care. He is scheduled for another procedure, which will extend his recovery even further. Doctors estimate it may take up to three months before he can walk again.
Because of his long hospital stay and recovery, Ray Ray has been out of work and will lose his insurance on September 29th. His fiancée, Stacey, has been working tirelessly to cover their financial needs, but the medical expenses are overwhelming. Home health care is essential for his recovery, yet even the most affordable option through Cobra costs $800 a month. On top of that, it could take up to two years before he is approved for disability benefits.
We are reaching out to ask for your help. Any donation—big or small—will go directly toward Ray Ray’s medical care, medications, and recovery needs. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing his story so we can reach as many hearts as possible.
Ray Ray is a fighter, and his family is beyond grateful to still have him with us. Thank you for taking the time to read his story, for your generosity, and for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers.
