It is with extreme sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ray “Ray Ray” Heroux.
Ray was a generous and loyal friend who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Known for his bravery and strength, Ray saved many lives during his years as a Firefighter and Cardiac Medic for the City of Providence. Despite the stress of his work, he remained lighthearted at home, where his sense of humor was infectious. Ray loved adventure and could often be found boating in the Summer and tailgating in the Winter. An avid fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox, Ray loved to share his enthusiasm for sports with everyone who knew him.
Ray was taken from us far too soon, and he will be deeply missed. He leaves behind his heartbroken father, who was not expecting to provide final arrangements for his only son, and who will struggle to afford them. As many of you already know, just months ago Ray's mother passed away too - so this is unimaginable and compounded grief for Ray's dad, who now suddenly finds himself alone.
Ray touched the lives of so many of us, and now his dad needs our support. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, most of us will be bringing our families together next week to make special memories; Ray's family will not have that opportunity this year - or ever again.
Please help to make the holidays a little less painful for Ray's father by making a donation to cover the costs of Ray's funeral and burial services. Any amount helps, and if we all give a little, together we can make a LOT of difference.
Thank you for your support and Happy Holidays to you and yours.
