Ray Ray Cottle’s Final trip home

Ray Ray moved to Naknek after completing Diesel Auto Mechanics school in his home state of Georgia.

He made as many trips home to visit his mother as often as he could.

He worked several different jobs in Naknek before taking a position at the school district maintenance department. This landed him the maintenance position at SAVEC, which he held for 14 years. He tells the story of his interview he had from Naknek Lake in August after battling the wind and breaking down, but he made it to work at 8am on that Monday.

Ray Ray loved nothing more than looking forward to his annual boat trips to the Bay of Islands with his many friends and the weekly winter dart nights!

He made many lasting friendships living in Naknek.

He leaves behind his brother Jimmy, sister Cheryl , daughter Joanie and his beloved grandson Keenan.

The family wishes to have Ray returned home to Georgia later in the warmer months ahead to have ashes spread in Alaska.
