Ray of Hope "Dream Big" Scholarship Fundraiser

Peace and Good-Will, My name is Raymar Byrd of Ray of Hope Family Services Inc LLC . Each year my organization grants a scholarship to a graduating minority resident of Louisa County High School. This scholarship is awarded to a student who will be furthering their education within the human service field. The “Ray of Hope Scholarship” is my way of giving back to the community that has given so much to me. Every year I have the daunting task of selecting one applicant out of many to award a 300$ scholarship to. This year I’d like to increase that and assist further by giving out three awards in the amount of 500$ from my organization. I would also like to award two additional 500$ scholarships to the special group of seniors I volunteer with from the male student union group at Louisa County High School, with the communities help. Seeing our next generation further their academic endeavors by choosing a path in the human services field serves as gratification. The act of giving back for a good cause is an important thread that holds our communities tightly together . The recipients will always remember this act of kindness and carry the torch for the next generation to come.  My goal for this fundraiser is 2500$. These awards will be given at the LCHS Senior award night on May 13th 2020. Any donations in excess will go toward our annual “BackPack to School” bookbag  and school supply drive and other upcoming charitable events. Last year we supplied 120 students with backpacks and supplies.
