Hi Everyone, this is Ray. Just a little over a year ago we were told he was in CKD 3. He has spent the last year following Drs orders to stop the damage and save his kidneys and his eyesight. He woke up Tuesday, March 12 in excruciating pain. After being rushed to the ED, he was admitted to the hospital and we were told he was in ESRD or End Stage Renal Disease.
His kidneys have reached their end and are no longer working on their own. He is going to have to start dialysis and will meet soon with the transplant team to start that process.
Ray has Diabetes type 2 and it has caused massive problems throughout his body even though it is controlled. As a result of DM2, Ray is now legally blind and in constant pain from neuropathy as well as heart damage from the ESRD.
All this together means that Ray, who is only just turned 50 has a long road ahead of him. He is a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is considerate and selfless, putting everyone before himself, even in this time of need. He is now in urgent need of a kidney transplant and months of post-op care.
For anyone who has ever had the privilege of meeting him, knowing him, he has undoubtedly left a mark of love, compassion, dark humor, music love and joy in your life. He is the epitome of selflessness and love.
The medical costs are immense, and his family is reaching out for your support. Every donation, big or small, will make a difference in ensuring Ray gets the care he needs to recover. Any funds raised will be going towards the medical costs associated with Rays kidney transplant and any hospitalizations.
Please consider contributing to Ray’s Kidney Transplant Fund today. Your generosity may help get our husband, father, friend back on his feet and back to being his crusty lovable self.
