Born in South Texas and raised in Chicago, army veteran Ray Juarez, 60, was in a motorcycle crash on July 10, 2018 in Austin, Texas on FM 973, losing his right leg in the process.
At the time, he was working in shipping for the last 15 years at Luminex Corporation, a company that develops biological testing technologies. He is a father and grandfather and has been riding bikes for over 30 years. He loves spending time with family and friends on the road on the weekends like all riders do. We'd all love to see him back on the road soon, which is why we are raising funds on his behalf. I met Ray through riding on the weekends and he happened to be riding with one of our friends. He was very likable and since then we have managed to arrange rides together every weekend. My name is Michael Huerta and I befriended Ray because of his honesty, true grit and friendliness. I'm sad to see him in the shape he is in and I'd like to see him get back to where he was at.
Since July 2018, Ray has been unable to work and has had medical bills pile up. His ultimate goal is to recover and go back to work at Luminex until his retirement. Right now, Ray is still in need of purchasing a more sufficient prosthetic so he can be more active. He would appreciate any and all donations, big or small.
