In early August, the Ray family experienced a horrific home invasion and attack by an estranged family member. This person had been threatening Lacey and the children for the past year. Despite careful preparation by the Rays, this person was able to break into the family’s home to carry out their plan early in the morning of August 16. Portions of their home and furniture were destroyed during the attack, and Joey Ray was seriously injured defending his family. Days later, their youngest child was rushed to the emergency room with complications from RSV.
The Rays need our help to rebuild, repair, and refurnish their home, making it a sanctuary and safe place for their family again. They also need help with the sizable medical bills Emma’s hospitalization incurred. This family has been such a blessing to our community, and this is a chance for us to show our love for them. Please donate as you’re able to remove the stress of dealing with these unexpected costs from their healing process.
Donations will be reviewed by an accountant friend of the family, and any excess donations will be donated to a charity of the family’s choosing once all hospital and repair bills have been paid. Thank you for showing the Rays that they are supported and cared for–you all have been the Lord’s hands and feet for them in this crisis! We truly are seeing the body of Christ come to life.
If you’re unable to give, the Ray family welcomes your prayers for healing, peace, and safety as they recover.
If you have not heard what happened to them, please do not reach out to the family. You can find details from the Lexington Police Department here: https://www.lexsc.com/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=185
