Hi, my name is Kim. I am Raymond’s oldest daughter.
Recently my dad underwent 3 surgeries in a month’s time in Saskatoon. First it was an elbow replacement December 20th. On January 9th he had an ablation on his liver to remove 2 cancerous tumours. Then on January 21 he had an emergency partial coronial transplant due to rheumatoid arthritis thinning the cornea. One day prior he was in a considerable amount of abdominal pain and this continued for the last month of his life. On February 3rd he was admitted to hospital. They found that he had a partially collapsed lung with a really bad infection. 2 days later a chest tube was inserted to drain liver bile out of the lungs. Basically the ablation had caused 2 bile leaks. 1 of which was a hole in the diaphragm causing the bile to leak into his lungs. Due to the numerous issues he ended up developing lung and kidney disease. He had been bed ridden for about 5 days and when they finally got him up to try to walk, he most likely threw a blood clot and had a heart attack.
As Some of you know mom had her own battle with cancer in spring of 2024 and underwent 7 weeks of radiation. About 7 months later they found a lump that may be concerning or could just be scar tissue post surgery. She had a CT to get that checked today February 25 2025.
Dad had reached out to me last week wanting me to start a go fund me to help with expenses if he passed.
We would love to help mom with some of these expenses as she’s been off work almost a year, and dad hasn’t worked since November.
some of these expenses are:
1. ambulance $800
2. cremation $3400
3. the wheel bearing went on his truck as they were coming home from visiting him the night before he passed away $450
numerous trips back and forth over the past 2 months for his appointments, her appointments , as well as visiting him every 2 days over the last 3 weeks while he was in hospital.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated to lessen the financial burden on mom.
