We are fundraising for my niece, Lily Boeselager and her family. On September 17, 2021, 5 year old Lily was admitted to Children’s Hospital in Omaha, NE where they found 2 masses in her abdomen. By nightfall on September 18, the masses were found to be malignant. Within the next week they had a diagnosis. Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). This is an aggressive form of Leukemia treated with chemotherapy.

Lily’s Chemo plan consists of 10 days of straight chemo. After the 10 days, she will stay in the hospital for 2-3 weeks to rebuild her immunity (HOPEFULLY go home for one of those weeks) and then it will start all over doing that for the next 6 months. Her Chemo is intense and the idea of it is to completely wipe out her immune system which means it’s not safe for her to leave the hospital until her immune system/levels come back up.

Lily is STRONG and she is going to beat her leukemia!!! Mom and dad report that she is doing well so far on this brand new journey. She has days that she does not feel well but most days she has a smile and loves to tease her doctors and nurses. Lily lights up a room and is the sweetest little girl you ever met. Her community in Hastings, NE and her family in Lincoln, NE have rallied around her with prayers, gifts and a T-shirt drive.

Makala and Chase (mom and dad) will not be able to work for much of the duration of her treatment since they live 2 plus hours away from Children’s Hospital. Please consider donating during this tough time. All thoughts prayers and donations are greatly appreciated.

We will lift Lily and her family up during this hard time and she will beat this cancer because she is COURAGEOUS and STRONG!!
