Rawhide Ranch German Shepherd Rescue Sanctuary assistance

  • Hello everyone! I'm back again looking for assistance from this amazing community that supported me so AMAZINGLY through my court battle to save my 5 German Shepherds! So im addition to the Gofundme the last time which I never imagined would do so well, I also at the worst time EVER to do so, refinanced my VA home loan to get cash out...going from a 2.75% interest rate to a 5.75%. It was not a very smart thing to do but, I was desperate to save my dogs and would've done almost anything to do so! That increased my mortgage by $1,000 a month. After my case, I had probably 500 friend requests on Facebook and people started tagging me in posts all over it and messaging me asking me to take in their German Shepherds, because they saw the huge heart I have and the love and life I give ALL of my animals but, especially my dogs...and they didn't want to surrender them to the shelter! I took on one dog (a Belgian Malinois named Popeye), that was abused and then locked in a garage for 4 months and wanted to eat me alive when I went to retrieve him. I ended up donning a bite suit to get him, and after biting four times, realized I was going nowhere. After taking the leash from the owner and having her leave the garage, within 5 minutes, he was on his back letting me rub his belly! He had a prey drive, now he sleeps with (and cuddles) with my cats, and won't touch my chickens and other birds. Now, he wraps his paws around me constantly hugging me and anyone can approach him. Had I not taken him and they surrendered him, he would've surely been euthanized. I took in Saske, a Shepherd/Husky mix, who was missing an eye and had a broken nose, as you can see in the picture with me. The eye socket leaked incessantly and had never been attended to, his coat was so thin, you could see straight through it at his red inflamed skin from flea dermatitis, and his hips were sticking up and he was skin and bones. Today, his eye has been fixed and sealed shut, he is a HUGE healthy boy and is fixed, and has the most beautiful full black coat and filled out great! These were the two worst I took in. I also took in 3 more horses (now totalling 5), and 4 cats (to make 7). Between the repairs to my house, paying for materials and people to help do the work as well as building new kennels to house the extra dogs, vet bills the money is exhausted and I'm spending $300 a week just on dog food...that's $1200 a month! I make good money but, with the amount of money I increased my mortgage by plus the added feed bill...it's not sustainable! Plus I have stuff that needs finished on the new kennels. There's also a "pending" legal battle that some of you will probably know what I'm talking about, involving my case that I cannot elaborate on. I had a friend who said they had someone who would do it "on contingency" where there would be no money needed up front but, that was not the case. I've applied for my 501C3 so that I can take donations, but that takes time to get and I'm HOPING with the new administration, they will do something to get the interest rates back down soon so that I can do a streamline refinance to significantly lower my house payment!
