Ravensbeard Wildlife Center Forever Home

Ravensbeard Wildlife Rehabilitation Center is a hospital for injured and orphaned wildlife.  For over 20 years we have provided free veterinary care to all patients who need it.  This year, we took in over 350 birds -  that's 200 above and beyond our normal capacity.  We were bursting at the seams and need to prepare for this upcoming spring season.

Last time we wrote to you we were deep in the hunt to find our forever home.  Well, we found our FOREVER home!!!  One where volunteers can come to work easily.  Where we can expand the amount of heated and open air cages.  A real clinic to store supplies and freezers to hold food donations, a kitchen with a sink and refrigerator.   A place with a stream for the waterfowl that we frequently house.  And space for students and visitors to come and learn about the birds and garner support and care for our environment.  It’s a tall order, but "if we build it, they will come."

We will need donations at the tune of $50,000 to build outdoor enclosures to be used as exercise and weathering chambers.  We can dedicate caging to donors who want to see their name on a plaque or building.   We will build cages and flys for each native species that comes in to Ravensbeard .  Whether they have a bump on the head or broken wings, we will have the proper enclosures for exercise and/or recovery.   All buildings will exceed the minimum standards of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.  Construction will take months to complete so please donate often throughout the year.

If you are handy, have tools, and have time to donate your skills, feel free to call us at:  [phone redacted] to get on the schedule.

Ravensbeard is a group of licensed wildlife rehabilitators, naturalists, educators and concerned neighbors committed to building a broader community with respect for all nature.  We promote community awareness, wildlife education, appreciation, compassion and acceptance of the natural circle of life.

Thanks in advance for your generous contributions "For the Birds".  We have dedicated our lives to the well being and preservation of all native birds and will continue with your help, to follow our mission for years to come.
