Raven’s Road to Recovery and Remission!
Donation protected
One of the worst things you could possibly hear as a parent is, “Your child has cancer.” It seems a little more devastating when it’s your 4 month old daughter.
Raven was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma, an incredibly rare liver tumor on June 3rd, 2022. The tumor had grown large enough to push her stomach and intestines to the left side of her body. The news was a lot to handle, but Children’s Mercy Hospital hit the ground running and started her chemotherapy treatment immediately when the cancer was confirmed.
Her prognosis is good, she has been responding well to treatment thus far. Her entire medical team is impressed by her progress and wooed by her smiles and bright eyes. There is still a long road ahead, with more chemotherapy and major surgery to remove the tumor from her liver.
Raven requires frequent medical care and constant supervision at home, along with weekly trips (and sometimes more) from Topeka to Kansas City for treatment and clinic visits. While there is no place else I’d rather be than by her side, kicking cancers butt- my loss of income is a devastating blow to our family dynamic and we are doing all we can to make ends meet… but with all the new, large expenses we are taking on it’s getting almost impossible.
I am asking for donations to help our family make it through this time so we are able to support Raven however we have to, without questioning if we can or not. We don’t even know the extent of any medical costs that might occur, everything is up in the air. Any contribution would be a huge help!
No one expects this to happen in their lifetime, I never thought this would happen to our family in a million years. We’re so thankful for all the love and support everyone has given us throughout this. I can’t wait to tell Raven all about the wonderful people that fought this battle with her when she grows up.
