Hello! I'm SSgt Nathan Witt. My dog, Raven, is just over a year old. She's a black pitbull/chihuahua mix, the sweetest dog I've ever met and has quickly become a great emotional support pet. She loves playing with other dogs, specifically my parents' two brittany spaniels, but has had a rough time keeping up with them for a dog so young.
For the last 4 months she has been dealing with hip and knee issues. After a few vet visits and consults I found out she has a severe hip dysplasia and her knee is consistently dislocating and wearing on her ACL. The surgery for her knee is estimated at $4200, and her hip I'm being told will likely be $5000 or more.
I am active duty Air Force going on 10 years and want to give my dog the best life I can, but veteran benefits and discounts only go so far and don't help much for pets unfortunately.
I'm hoping this great community can help Raven get the surgery she needs to live a playful and happy life.
If the final cost for her surgeries ends up being less than estimated, I'll be donating the difference to a local shelter.
