My name is Bethany, Trisha Rausch's sister and I alongside our 4 other siblings (Leslie, Jeff, Darrin, and Meagan) am asking for your help. Like many families, Trisha's family lost everything in the recent Mid Michigan flood.
Trisha and her husband Brad have raised their two kids on Wixom lake. They have built up a beautiful home on the water and have created memories and roots over the past decade. On Monday May 18th, they were awoken at 1:30am to the sounds of sirens and emergency crews telling them to evacuate as Wixom lake began to flood. Luckily, they were able to get out safely; however they had no time to gather any belongings and had to wait nearby helpless as the water rose and eventually flooded their home.
They have lost everything from all furniture, bedding, towels, clothes, food, personal supplies, dishware, etc. Their house is currently uninhabitable and the family is keeping the kids safe as Trisha and Brad go through the debris of what was once their cherished belongings. Early estimates of cost for just the home repairs is $15,000 which of course does not include any items lost. While we seek financial support to help them rebuild their home and purchase necessary supplies for their family, we are also seeking prayers and positive thoughts as we all know there is no amount of money that can replace the pictures, memories, and childhood keepsakes lost to this tragedy.
