In the early hours of March 11th, our sweet Raul suffered a stroke lying in bed while the rest of his family slept. Many hours passed before anyone was awake to find Raul and get help. Raul has now been in the ICU for 5 days, undergoing countless scans and x-rays.
Raul’s initial prognosis was severe without much hope of survival, and after transferring hospitals his family and loved ones have continued to receive new prognosis’s as the days have passed.
At the moment, Raul is not able to breathe on his own without a ventilator, and is in and out of consciousness. While we are not sure what the next couple of days will bring as far as news and updates, we do know that the López family needs all the support we can muster.
Raul was born in Mexico City in 1966 and now lives in San Diego with his family. As many of you know, Raul has worked along side Annie for nearly 10 years. We are a small team, and really more like a small family. Anyone who had the pleasure of getting to speak with or get to know Raul knows he is one of the kindest, most compassionate, and intelligent men. He loved his work, and took great pride in the hard work and effort he put in for our clients. Raul is a family man, who cares deeply about the people around him and has been proud to be able to support his family.
This has been an incredible loss and painful time for all those touched by Raul’s life. His family faces many uncertain times ahead, and any donation to this cause would help ease some of the already unimaginable future without Raul.
What a gift it is to know we can look out at these gardens and be reminded of our sweet Raul, and the beauty he’s added to all of our lives.
