On the evening of June 8th, Raul Faife was in the backyard doing some mechanical work on a boat when he fell and broke his back, causing significant damage to his spine. Specifically his L1 vertebrae. It was completely crushed, and Drs at Jackson Ryder Trauma performed a laminectomy and a fusion (pins and rods). The surgery was successful, but Raul is now paralyzed from the waist down. We pray that Raul may walk again with healing and rehabilitation exercises. So far, he is hopeful of achieving a full recovery.

With this sudden event, our world as a family has been turned upside down. Raul’s wife, Regina, has been dealing with household needs and caring for their toddler and newborn baby. She has also been driving to Jackson daily to accompany Raul through the process to ensure nothing is getting missed and that Raul is being cared for.

Raul will need to do extensive Rehabilitation sessions and will need Medical equipment for his home. Regina is incurring expenses due to parking/tolls, ambulance, Gas, Babysitter Fees, and many more on the way. Raul is also unable to work, so his financial income has stopped, and Regina is doing her best to carry on with the monthly expenses.
