Raul Cruz Valdez Scholarship Fund

Our is an epic love story and although it had a tragic ending here on earth we both know it will live on for eternity. As with all true love stories, the tragedy is the loss experienced when Raul transitioned on May  29, 2022 after being diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer just 4 months ago. Raul was a big guy with an even bigger heart and the he was always helping others.   Most of his good deeds went unrecognized because when you do something that comes from your heart there is no need to tell others. He was the most humble person I ever met.  
 
As the world journeys on without my sweet love, I am determined to carry on his legacy of helping others by creating and Educational Fund in his name for young people in Guatemala that wish to get an education but could not otherwise afford it. He was grateful for his own education (MS in Engineering)  and the doors it opened for him even though he dedicated his life to the service of others in his role as an owner of "A Place to Stay Hostel". He has always been a supporter of local children whether they needed school supplies or money for tuition to a private school so they can learn english and have a shot at a better life, he believed in empowerment not hand outs. 


This initial go-fund-me page will help us to set up a foundation in Raul's name so that his kind, generous spirit lives on.

 

As Raul would say, "We believe in love. We believe in Light. We believe in Magic." Let's make some magic.
