On behalf of the children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and everyone he has loved and helped along the way, while living his simple, old fashioned, off the grid, happy lifestyle “ Papa (Eric Daicy) is seeking help from the community not out of want but out of necessity. He was recently diagnosed with Stage 2 Prostate Cancer and will have to endure several types of treatments.
His current life style is not conducive to what his needs will be while undergoing treatment and future recovery. He lives on a minimal income from social security which doesn’t always cover even the basics. He has been told by his doctors several changes will need to be made to his current lifestyle in order for treatment to be successful. He will need a completely new diet, adequate indoor plumbing, reliable transportation, and several new sanitation procedures in his household. He has already started his 1st 30 day treatment to break down his immunity which is already making him ill. He will then need radiation therapy 5 days a week for a minimum of 6 weeks.
All that know him are aware he is a very loving, kind hearted, strong, stubborn 68 year old man that will give the shirt off his back even if it sacrifices his basic needs and always has. He has never been the type to ask for help but those who and love him are asking for him. Sometimes ones needs are greater than their pride. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. We will also be holding a benefit in his honor on Saturday April 23rd, from 4-8 at the Tailgate Bar and Grill in Gray. Any and all are welcome.
Thank you from his family!!
