Rattlehead Commercial for American Cancer Society
The intent of this project is to bring awareness/charity to those suffering from cancer and those who have lost loved ones to this disease. All this will be an artistic and fun endeavor through film.
My name is Rudy Salas, a recent MFA graduate from USC'S School of Cinematic Arts. I recently wrote and directed a commercial spot for NECA's Aliens toy-line which garnered over 20K views on Instagram & Vimeo.
I was honored and blessed to have a friend like Arnold Fonseca. He was always a positive spirit that could see the good in everyone and everything. At the age of 30, Arnold passed away on May 1st, 2019 after a battle with cancer. One of the final conversations I had with Arnold revolved around music, one of Arnold's passions. He enjoyed bands such as Megadeth.
Recently, NECA released an action figure based on Megadeth's mascot, Vic Rattlehead. As stated before, I have already created a film spot revolving around a NECA product. https://vimeo.com/332900677
However, this time I have a charitable cause in my corner.
I have been in contact and garnered representation from the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life division.
The necessity for crowdfunding a film is crucial. In this case, the film is not just a product for consumption. The proceeds of the remaining crowdfunded budget will be donated to the American Cancer
Society directly.
ART: Create a lasting image for all to notice and experience.
IMPACT: Film with a cause has always grasped people in immense ways.
SERVICE: Give back to those who have passed on or those who continue to battle this disease.
We'll smile when when we think of them.
More information about American Cancer Society: At the American Cancer Society, we're on a mission to free the world from cancer. Until we do, we'll be funding and conducting research, sharing expert information, supporting patients with transportation to treatment, lodging and spreading the word about prevention. All so you can live longer and better.
