Please support our GoFundMe donation fund for the Radha Krishna Mandir to honor the life of Rasikbhai Desai. All proceeds will support Rasikbhai's temple of worship, the Radha Krishna Mandir, in Norwalk, CA.
Last week, our family was caught by surprise when we all tested positive for COVID-19. As each day passed, another member of the household began feeling ill including our grandfather, Rasikbhai Desai. Dada (Rasikbhai) began experiencing extreme symptoms early on and our family tried to be there to help him in any way possible. Anyone who knew Dada would agree that he had enough fight and tenacity to overcome any obstacle, but this time the virus was taking a toll on his body and my father knew Dada could no longer keep fighting. Our family made the difficult decision of sending Dada to the ICU knowing we may never got to see him again in person as he fought for his life in the hospital. We sadly lost our loving Dada to a painful, hard fought battle against COVID-19 on January 12, 2021.
Dada was a stronghearted individual who was actively involved in caring for others and making his community a better place for everyone. Dada told us no matter how he passed away, he did not want us to mourn his death with sadness. Instead, he wanted us to celebrate his life by remembering the good times and memories we had together. So we wanted to take this opportunity to encourage you to help us honor Dada's life in the following two ways:
1. Please support our GoFundMe donation fund for the Radha Krishna Mandir in Norkwalk, CA (Dada's temple) to honor Dada's involvement in the community and his worship to God. Dada's body began to deteriorate with age while his mind stayed sharp – he had the will to continue supporting his family, friends, and community, but he was unfortunately limited by his physical condition. This donation fund represents your love and support for Dada and it will help impact change in the way Dada would have liked to do so in the latter years of his life. All the proceeds will go directly to the Radha Krishna Mandir – we thank you so much for your support. Jai Shree Krishna. (www.radhakrishna.org)
2. Please help us remember Dada by sharing your memories with him that we will compile into a book of memories with your name and story/photos. Maybe you knew Dada really well or perhaps you never met him at all – no matter what your relationship was with Dada, our goal here is to ask you to take a couple minutes of your time and share something that you remember about Dada that you would like for others to know about. It can be a full detailed story or even just a short sentence – anything works as long as we can help preserve some of these cherished memories. Please submit your story along with your name and contact information to the following Google Sheets link: https://rb.gy/o696pk . Please submit any photos you may have of Dada to this Google Drive link: https://rb.gy/fbekjr . For any assistance please contact one of us - see Organizer section below for contact information.
Our family would like to thank you very much for your time, support, and love for Rasikbhai Desai, our loving Dada.
