Support My Sankirtan Trip

Dear friends,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Carrying the desires of Lord Caitanya in his heart, Srila Prabhupada wanted Krsna consciousness to spread all over the world. Central to his mission is the distribution of his transcendental books. And by the mercy of my spiritual master, I find myself serving in this sankirtan lila.

HH Svayam Bhagavan Keshava Swami once advised me to travel to Atlanta, Georgia in the USA and get the association of the book distributors there and of HG Mahotsaha Prabhu in particular, who recently broke the world record for distributing the highest number of books in one day to: a grand total of 5035 books, including 55 Srimad Bhagavatam sets (all to Westerners)!

They are a dedicated team, sold out to the sankirtan mission and are distributing books all over America at an astronomical rate.

I have the tremendous good fortune of visiting them for 10 days this month. I will attend the annual sankirtan festival they’re hosting and travel with them on sankirtan. My aim is to capture some of their mood, dedication and surrender in the hope that, charged by their devotion, I can bring something back to my service of book distribution and sankirtan leadership here in the UK.

In reciprocation of their hospitality, example and guidance, I’d like to offer them some laksmi for them to use to develop their project.

They will use the funds to cover the costs of travelling to, and booking, weekly expos and conventions through which they are distributing thousands of books, including many Srimad Bhagavatam sets (to celebrities too). They also have a thriving brahmacari and brahmacarini ashram, hold fortnightly retreats for the public to attend and are building a growing community of devotees. I also have the pleasure of travelling there with HG Rasananda Sankirtan Prabhu. He is the smiley and energetic saffron-clad brahmacari many of you may have seen around the Manor recently. He is originally from Belgium but is here to complete the residential Bhakti Sastri course. He is a leading book distributor in France and like me, is keen to get the association of the devotees in Atlanta to help him with his sankirtan seva. The funds raised will also go towards the cost of his plane ticket (£1070.19) which he is reliant on the generosity of the devotee community for.
