Save Rascal's Life — Urgent Surgery and Ongoing Treatment Needed

Rascal has always been the sweetest boy. He’s the kind of cat who makes a house feel like a home.

During the heatwave, with windows cracked open to let in any hint of a breeze, Rascal saw his chance. In one unwatched moment, he pushed through the screen and was gone. Perhaps he was chasing some invisible bird, some scent, some idea only he understood. None of us saw it happen. But we will never forget what followed.

They say cats always land on their feet. Turns out that's true. But from from that height, his feet weren't enough to save him. Rascal may have nine lives, but as it turns out, his leg only had one.

We rushed him to the vet, and for a while, we weren't sure he was going to make it. Sitting in that waiting room, all we could think about was every nap he's stolen from us, every time he's headbutted us awake, every quiet moment he's curled up beside us without being asked. We weren't ready to lose him.

The vets gave us the hardest news and the best news in the same breath: Rascal can survive this but only with amputation surgery. He has to lose a leg to save his life.

He doesn't know it yet, but he's about to become a three-legged warrior. And honestly, knowing Rascal, he'll probably adjust faster than we will.

The surgery, follow-up care, and recovery will cost approximately £5000 (wtf!). This isn't something we can cover on our own, and every single donation — no matter the size — brings Rascal closer to the surgery he needs to stay with us.

If you've ever loved a pet like family, you know what this cat means to us. Rascal is fighting for his life, and he doesn't have to fight it alone.

Please consider donating, and if you can't, a share goes just as far. Thank you for loving Rascal even a fraction as much as we do.

Updates on Rascal's surgery and recovery will be posted here — thank you for being part of his story.
