Rasandre at Pan-American Karate Championships

Donation protected
Rasandre just turned 12. He will represent Jamaica at the Junior Panamerican Championships in the 12/13-year-old category in Mexico City on August 22-28th. A dual citizen of Canada and Jamaica, he chose to represent his Jamaican roots and continue the legacy of his mother's contributions to Jamaica Karate. Through karate, Rasandre wants to create more opportunities for Jamaican people.

This year, Jamaica Karate, is sending a Junior Team to the Panamerican Championships for the first time. The federation only received funding for two athletes who are 16/17 years old. At only 12 years old, Rasandre was not eligible for this funding, but he continued to train and make fundraising efforts at events such as his performance at the BC Lions Game with his Karate Club. Inspired by the success of Jamaican athletes in track and field and the Jamaican Senior Team's initial strides, Rasandre is committed to working hard to put Jamaica on the map in the karate world. The funds raised in this campaign would be used to offset the costs of Rasandre's airfare to Mexico City and accommodation at the Mexican Olympic Training Center, where he would stay for the competition and an international training camp following the event.
