On March 30th approximately around 9pm my beloved father passed away unexpectedly. My father, Enrique, was a man of few words only because his actions always spoke louder. He worked his whole life to be able to provide a better life for his wife and children and even after he retired he helped raise his grandchildren before and after my sister passed away. He taught me to not only achieve my goals but to always go above the sky’s limit to become better than the person I was yesterday. He was a son, a brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend, but most of all, he was my best friend. I have always been strong because he was my backbone that held me up whenever I felt like I was falling. Due to his death being unexpectedly, my family and I weren’t financially prepared for this to come. I am here now asking for help to be able to give my father the proper burial he deserves. Unfortunately due to the circumstances of the CO-VID19 I am not able to bury him in Dominican Republic next to my brother and sister as he wished. The only option that the hospital is giving me in order to release his body is if I arrange with the funeral home to bury him here in NY where he will have to be transported straight from the hospital to the cemetery. But in order for the funeral home to do this, I have to pay the amount being charged which is $9,000. The rest of the $3,000 will go to help my mother cover the expenses of her home and my nephews. Anything can help give my father the proper burial. For those who didn’t know my father, he was the one who not only taught me but encouraged me to work in the medical field so I can be part of a team that helps to save lives. He told me and I quote “We’re not strangers but we are all heroes” and this is how I will remember him and live day by day with this quote of his.
