Ras Kidus Homegoing to Jamaica with Family

Donation protected

My name is Stephanie Slade and I've been the caregiver and partner of Jon Ras Kidus Cornelius for 17 years. On Oct. 8 he was air lifted to UCSF for a brain bleed. The doctors and team did procedures to save his life. He got off the life support and was cleared to eat. He had aphasia and lost 30 lbs, but hope was strong for recovery. However, on Nov 26 he had another brain bleed and the doctors said there was too much blood outside the ventricles and no chance of recovery. He passed away on Nov 27 at 7pm. A Jamaican movie star and reggae band leader for 50 years in America, he touched many people and inspired all ages to be creative, especially playing music. He was a drummer with Ras Michael and the Sons of Negas and his own band Roots Connection was popular and won awards in the 80s and 90s. After a bleed in 2011 he recovered and brought his drum circle to memory care facilities, hospitals, aneurysm support groups and music festivals.

His website is www.bionicroots.com and his songs play on Spotify and other platforms .
Thank you all who donate in his name so we can fulfill his dying wish to return to ancestor's land in Jamaica with his family.
