A few days ago, our dear friend Rares was involved in a severe motorcycle accident in Indonesia after colliding with a bus. He was rushed to the hospital and required emergency brain surgery. He is currently in an induced coma while the medical team works to stabilise him and assess the full extent of his injuries.

Rares is the father of a 1-year-old child, and his family is going through an unimaginable situation. His mother received a call from the Romanian Embassy in Indonesia informing her of the accident, and she has already been asked to cover medical costs of €30,000, with the total amount rising each day.

Being treated as a foreigner abroad makes everything significantly more expensive, and the hospital requires ongoing payments before they can continue treatment. The family is doing everything they can, but they cannot face this alone.

I am organising this fundraiser from the UK on behalf of Rares and his family in Romania, as they cannot create a GoFundMe campaign themselves. All funds raised will go directly towards his immediate medical bills, ongoing treatment, and any future costs related to recovery or transfer.
