Rare flesh eating disease; Svetlana's fight
Donation protected
I am reaching out to our community to help my mom through the most difficult time of her life. My mother, Svetlana Geyer (Doshchechkina) was recently admitted to the hospital Monday morning for excruciating pain. After multiple tests, it was discovered that she had Necrotizing Fasciitis, a rare flesh-eating disease. Surgery was performed later that evening to remove the dead tissue. Luckily it did not damage any organs. However, the doctors decided to leave her sedated and open to see if the bacteria would continue to spread. Unfortunately, it has, and she underwent her second surgery this morning. At this point, we have no idea how many more surgeries she will have to experience. She is expected to stay in the ICU for at least the next 5 weeks.
She is fortunate to have medical insurance, which does not cover everything. Svetlana faces more surgeries and physical therapy. She is strong, but we also want her to recover without having to worry about any finances. Anything you can contribute will be a blessing and would greatly help. If you can't donate, then your continued prayers are also appreciated. You can also help by sharing her story on social media.
