My five-year-old daughter, Maddy, has a rare chromosomal disorder: Chromosome 7q12 Microdeletion. This means that part of her body’s chromosomes have been lost or deleted. It is estimated that 1 in 20,000 people have Chromosome 7q12 Microdeletion. This disorder can affect how her body works, her growth and development, behavior, and her ability to learn. Some people who have this, including Maddy, also have autism.

Maddy is not able to eat or drinking by mouth and has a gj feeding tube where food goes straight into her stomach and intestines. She has gastrointestinal problems, kidney issues, chronic vomiting, and several other health issues related to the disorder.

Each day is a new challenge. I am a single mother and have a son with special needs, as well. I try to stay positive. Right now, I am trying to raise money so that we may have the opportunity to go to Chicago on July 12 for a conference related to her condition. This is the only opportunity we have had to meet others with this condition and get more information and important resources. Please help us reach our goal so that we may travel to Chicago for this very important opportunity. Every dollar helps!
