Rare Circumstances with Ewing Sarcoma
Donation protected
Hello-
I am a 27 year old, who has been diagnosed with a rare cancer. I have two beautiful children, and am a single mother. I recently became a Registered Nurse, and find it so fullfilling to help others. Now, I am in need of help for myself, something that isn’t easy to ask of others.
At the beginning of the summer I had emergency surgery and had my gallbladder removed. I did not expect that at my one-week post op appointment I would be told that I had a malignant tumor found near my liver. I also was not prepared for the news that I would now need intense chemotherapy treatment, coupled with surgery. The next year, to year and a half of my life will consist of hospitalized chemotherapy, with five different drugs. I have been told that my Ewing Sarcoma has been diagnosed in less than 100 studies in the last 40 years. I thank god every day that I was able to experience being a mother, as I will no longer be able to have children after my chemotherapy. I also thank god every day that my tumor was found, not by coincidence, but by divine intervention. My children have been my greatest purpose, and are now my greatest motivators.
Looking forward, I fear how I’ll be able to support my two young children on this journey. As mothers, we strive to protect our children. I have not been able to work since the beginning of the summer, but the journey ahead is much longer for me.
I am insecure about setting a particular financial goal with this fundraiser. I am thankful for anyone who takes the time to hear my story, or find it in their heart to help support me and my young children. God bless you!
