My name is Raquel, and I am a disabled transgender woman and wheelchair user in Portland, Oregon. I am reaching out for support during one of the most difficult periods of my life.

I recently left a long-term relationship that became violent. My apartment was left badly damaged and filled with debris, and friends have been helping me clean and restore it. We have spent days clearing it, but I still need help paying for cleaning supplies, household basics, personal-care items, and the costs of rebuilding a safe and stable home.

At the same time, my family across the country has been facing serious illness and loss. My mother is being treated for cancer, my grandmother is living with dementia, my sister passed away a few years ago, and my grandfather died recently. I am grieving, overwhelmed, and trying to stay afloat while also doing my best to support the people I love from a distance.

I am currently appealing my SSI disability case and have no reliable personal income. A housing grant is helping cover my rent, but it does not cover everything else. I still need help with seizure medication, transportation, internet service, hygiene and personal-care supplies, cleaning and household needs, and unexpected emergencies.

I am working hard to create a stable future that is compatible with my disability. I am pursuing remote work and online cybersecurity education, and I am developing small automation, cybersecurity, and blockchain-software projects from home. My goal is to build practical skills and eventually earn income through remote technology work, consulting, and software development.

To support that goal, I need a more capable and reliable workstation. My current computer cannot handle the programming, virtual machines, security labs, local AI tools, automation workflows, and software-development workloads I need for education and remote work. My preferred long-term hardware goal is an NVIDIA DGX Spark or an AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ / “Strix Halo” system with sufficient memory and storage. If I cannot reach that goal, funds will still be used toward the most practical lower-cost path: refurbished workstation hardware, RAM, SSD storage, backup drives, networking equipment, and accessibility-friendly work peripherals.

I will prioritize immediate essentials first: medication, transportation, internet, hygiene, cleaning supplies, household recovery, and emergency needs. Any funds beyond those urgent needs will help me build the reliable technology setup needed to complete cybersecurity training, pursue remote work, and create a sustainable path toward independence.
